Geneva Myers

Geneva is the daughter of Bro. Ross and Ruth Patterson.  Bro. Ross Patterson has been a pastor with over 40 years of service to the Lord.  She is married to Robert Myers for 16 years and together they have 3 precious sons, Ryan 14 (going on 30!), Caleb 11 and Joshua 6.  Geneva has one of the purest alto voices that you will ever hear.  A great talent for hearing harmony parts and a wonderful gift for writing Biblically sound songs that make her a great part of Stubborn Love.

From Geneva:

First of all, thank you for visiting our site.  It is my sincere hope and prayer that God will use us to be a blessing to others.  This past year has been a very difficult year for me and my family.  As you read above, my daddy was a pastor for over 40 years and he loves the Lord very much.  I grew up in a Christian home and it was such a blessing to have parents such as mine.  Mom and Dad had 5 children; they all are serving the Lord, which is a wonderful testimony of the lives that my parents lived.

My mother has had heart problems for some time but we were not prepared when the Lord took her home in November 2009.  God had given me the song on Cases Like Mine titled "No More Tears" before my mother passed away.  The first verse on the song was so about my dear and wonderful mother.  My mother was in the hospital room with all of her children around her bed. She looked up and lifted her arms as Jesus was reaching down for her, as He took her home to rest.  As "No More Tears" says...For our God will wipe the tears from our eyes.

On January 31 of this year, my dear Daddy went home to be with Jesus also.  He had been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers in 08 and January of 09. Daddy got progressively worse and was in the hospital for several different surgeries and they found out he had cancer also.  Anyway, it got to where he did not know us at all, there were times that we had a glimpse of him and it was one of the very hardest things that us five kids have ever had to endure.  But God is still good ALL THE TIME, and we made it and God allowed several little 'flowers' along the journey.  On the day Daddy died, all of us were with him and we were singing "How Great Thou Art".  The second verse talks about "I shall bow in humble adoration and proclaim my God, how great thou art!".  My daddy took his last breath during that part and that was an awsome showing of God's gift to us because that's how Daddy would've wanted to go.  I thank God everyday for having a Mom & Daddy that showed me the love of Christ on a daily basis.

It is truly an honor that Stubborn Love dedicates this CD - Cases Like Mine in loving memory of Mrs. Ruth Patterson, my dear mother.
